Help with Stride
Keep your
momentum.
Stride is currently an iPhone beta distributed through TestFlight. It requires iOS 26 or later.
Connect Apple Health
Open Stride and select Connect Apple Health. Allow the activity types you want to view. For recording and automatically saving workouts, allow Workouts write access. You can revisit permissions in Health → profile → Apps → Stride.
Live steps and daily totals
While Stride is open and no workout is active, the main ring shows live iPhone steps. Otherwise it shows available Apple Health totals, which may include Apple Watch activity. These sources are not added together. Missing live steps can mean Motion & Fitness access is disabled.
Record a workout
Choose Walk, Run, or Hike in Workouts and carry your phone. Pause and resume in the app or through its Live Activity. Auto-pause requires five minutes of confidently detected stillness with no new steps; resume manually. Distance is estimated by the iPhone motion sensor.
Find a finished workout
Completed workouts save automatically to Apple Health with permission. If saving fails, Stride retains a local recovery copy and retries when reopened. You can also use Retry Health save in the workout summary after enabling access. Fitness+ and other workouts appear after they become available in Apple Health.
Enable Live Activities
Check Settings → Apps → Stride → Live Activities. Start a workout in Stride, then lock your phone or check the Dynamic Island. iOS controls availability and updates. Force-quitting or system interruptions may affect background tracking.
Send feedback
Open TestFlight, select Stride: Steps & Workouts, then choose Send Beta Feedback. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, app build number, and what you expected to happen. Please avoid including private Health screenshots unless needed.
